Is it possible that there is such a thing as a free home-based Internet business? We are taught all through life that nothing worthwhile is free, that everything costs something, and that holds true of almost everything in life, especially business concepts. That doesn’t mean that a free home-based Internet business doesn’t exist. However, there are other costs involved besides start up capital. In any business, Internet or otherwise, advertising is necessary for public visibility. Of course, there are sites that offer free advertising, but you probably want to choose advertising that is more apparent to prospects, depending on the concept of your home business and what you hope to gain from it.

There are many free home-based Internet business opportunities available, but you must consider more than cash outlay when you use the term “free.” Even if the capital expenditure for start up is non-existent, and you locate some free advertising sites that work well for you, you’re still using your time and energy to develop the marketing plan and to do the advertising. The time you expend performing these tasks is still a part of a monetary contribution although it’s indirect. After all, you’re not making money during the time you spend developing a client base and advertising your business. So even though you are not actually paying fees, this time and energy translates into funds that you’re not earning.

Another thing you want to understand before you embark on a free home-based Internet business is that what is free may not be the business that is going to allow you to earn the kind of money you desire. Keeping in mind that you get what you pay for, if you’re looking for something that is going to provide you with financial freedom, it would probably be worth your time and energy to do some research and find something that suits you, even though it requires some cash outlay, especially if you’re wanting to replace your full-time job.
