Alternatives To Spam

"If you’re like me, you’re probably sick to death of opening you’re e-mail inbox only to be overwhelmed by a deluge of spam ads that of no interest to me. It seems like everyone is in a rush to take up the e-marketing banner without a lot of thought how effective or ineffective it is. You can reach a large audience, but what good is that doing if you’re advertising isn’t targeted at the kinds of people who would realistically buy your product. Another big draw is that its comparatively inexpensive as advertising goes. There are better alternatives out there, though.

If you’re willing to forgo the bright lights and over inflated promises of e-marketing, though, you’ll find that good old fashioned marketing the low tech way is just as inexpensive and delivers more tangible results for your money. Let’s take a look at a comparable print marketing tool, like postcard marketing, and what it brings to the table, then.

Compared to e-mail based ads, postcards are quite simply less annoying than their web based counterpoint. Consumers can receive dozens upon dozens of ads in their e-mail boxes daily. Chances are, if the sender isn’t a friend or family member, that e-mail is going to get moved to their trash folder. The direct mail market is far less crowded, though, so there’s less chance of your advertising message getting lost in the crowd. Also, unlike e-mails, there’s nothing for consumers to click on to open and read and no threats of computer viruses to scare them off. All they have to do is open the mail box, and they were going to do that anyway.

Still not sold on the idea? Consider some of the other plus sides of postcard printing:

Eye Catching: The front of your postcard is going to be a one big image. While sorting the bills, your recipient is almost certainly going to not only notice your image, but will turn the post card over to see what’s on the other side.

Simple: You don’t have to have a long sales pitch to make an impact. Your image is already prominently displayed on one side, leaving you the reverse side for a clever catch phrase and your offer.

Versatile: Post cards can be used for more than sales pitches. You can also include discounts or promotional offers. You can also use your post cards to keep your customers up to date on things like new services, new business hours, seasonal sales, service appointments, or anything else you might need to relate.

Don’t let your message get lost in a sea of fruitless marketing e-mails. Instead of following the fad, go with a time proven marketing tool, go with postcards."

Laziest Way To Make Real Money Online. I'm Not Kidding You - See Proof Here! http://tinyurl.com/ynmrk7

As an entrepreneur/home business owner, what do you do when everything seems to be falling apart at the same time?

• When your PC becomes infected with a virus, even though you have virus protection
• When you move and the heat index is 105º and you’re short a person to help
• When you’re relegated to using dialup to surf the Internet, due to miscommunication with the telephone company and service is interrupted for over a week
• When the car won’t start and you’re supposed to be at your job
• When your laptop becomes infected with viruses
• When… all within the same three to four week period

This circumstance has been a real test of my patience as well as my perseverance and determination to succeed at working from home. As a not-so-young entrepreneur, I’ve had lots of practice dealing with challenges. Well, that’s the human condition.

Anyway, my PC has been inoperable for about three months, so I started using my laptop for my home business until I could get more money to get the PC wiped and restored without busting my budget. Since moving from my temporary place a month ago (on the 105º heat index day), I had been using the laptop—for all of about two weeks—after the telephone situation was straightened out, when I got these flashing messages and other strange looking things while on line that are indicative of aliens taking over—viruses.

I called my computer techie friends in Arizona and told them what was happening. They said that they had experienced the same thing, and gave me a site for downloading PC tools and virus protection. Although I have virus protection I needed an additional one for a different type of virus; VERY malicious and aggressive kind. I wish I had known about it when my PC was first attacked. With the PC I couldn’t tell until it was too late! We live and learn, and I’ve gained a great deal of knowledge over the past very few years of attempting to run a home business.

I panicked a little at the thought of being without a computer to work my home business, and decided to take the PC to the shop. During that trip the car, which was starting then, began to run hot, and I was almost stranded on the highway. I was able to maneuver out of traffic, drop off the PC, get the car started again only to get lost on the way back home. The car shut off again at a stop light, but I managed to start it one more time to get 15 yards around the corner and up an incline out of traffic with steam coming from under the hood. Long story short, getting lost was a good thing-- I’ve been here less than two years-- as someone walked up at that moment, taped the radiator hose, filled the radiator with water and rode with me to the auto parts place a few blocks away to get a new hose and more coolant, and he made the repair for a nominal fee, and pointed me in the right direction home. I told him he was my angel! He saved me towing and mechanic fees.

I also had a DSL problem which prevented me from being able to be online and on the telephone simultaneously. I had talked to the phone company about it, but there was a glitch that didn’t make sense to me. So I just let it go. I resolved that problem a few minutes ago myself. I’m not a techie in any sense of the word, but I do eventually figure out some things, when I’m focused and feel relatively unstressed so I can determine where to begin. There comes a point when “dealing” needs to come to a halt!

By the way, yesterday (Friday) I called the computer shop to check on my PC, in case they had been trying to call me, and they hadn’t even looked at it. I dropped it off two weeks ago.

So, sometimes we just have to step back and things workout. That’s what I’ve learned in my lifetime and have to remind myself of often, especially while trying to operate a home business. There must be balance.
