You have managed to let go of the safety net of corporate employment, and you have trusted in your innate ability to do a good job with your knowledge and skills to such an extent that you will be able to survive without a third party paying your way. No longer bound to an employer for your life’s earnings and your family’s financial well being, you are now the master of your own destiny. This is quite possibly the ultimate rush with respect to self-fulfillment, a greater sense of self worth and total freedom.

As far as self-employment goes, you are probably familiar with the clichés; the ability to work in your fuzzy slippers, the notion that you will be able to see your children off to the school bus each morning and be there to pick them up again in the afternoon, and of course the fact that you will no longer have to commute and be stuck in traffic for hours on end.

Besides being the master of your own destiny, you feel a great sense of fulfillment when you realize it’s your own personal genius and creativity that are making your success happen, not someone else’s. No longer are you creating marketing campaigns to benefit others, but you are using your very own marketing efforts to put you on the map as the one drawing in potential customers and clients who want to do business with you. Of course, you put in a lot of time and effort with your marketing campaigns, and there’s a feeling of great pride in achieving success not only with your product or service, but also with the very marketing innovation that put you on the map!
