Lead generation is a must for building your business and obtaining residual income. Many people end up quitting because they do not understand the principal of lead generation and how it works in a business.

A lead is the contact information for a possible customer or team member. The best leads are qualified leads, which are for people who have expressed an interest in your business or products. These prospects have either requested information or otherwise made it known that they are interested in either buying your products or services or becoming part of your business. So these leads are the best because they are the most promising prospects. Another important aspect of leads is that they must be current so that the contact information is up to date, and the prospects are more likely to remember opting in to receive business information, thus saving you time and money.

Leads can be generated in a number of ways. Offline leads can come from telemarketing, word of mouth, talking about your business with people you meet and giving them your business card, leaving your card with the tip at restaurants and running Ads in your local newspapers. Online leads can come from advertising and opt-in email campaigns, or you can also purchase leads. But beware of buying leads as they may not be current.

Leads are the fuel for generating residual income. Good leads will produce the sign ups and sales needed to explode your business and make your residual income opportunity successful. As always, you must do your homework to find a good lead source if you are buying them, and advertise wherever possible to generate your own leads so you can turn them into an income source that generates top residual income.
